In this unit, we learned all about the atom. Specifically, we learned about what makes up an atom, how those thing make each element unique (quantity), and how they interact within the atom and outside the atom. Since I had done the unit before, there wasn’t too much new content for me. However, I had never done the Photoelectron Spectroscopy graph, and I found that very interesting. I liked the graph mainly for how it was set up, and how there is practical application for it in the modern day world. The flame test experiment was somewhat challenging for me, since we didn’t go to in-depth as to how an electron being in it’s “excited state” makes the flame change its color.
